ELENA JIMÉNEZ, MD

Since completing a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus in 2002, Dr. Jiménez has gained an excellent reputation as a gifted cataract and refractive surgeon specializing in advanced technology intraocular lenses for the correction of Presbyopia and Astigmatism.

She has also become a leader in the ophthalmic community having been elected President of the Puerto Rico Ophthalmic Society as well as Member of the Patient Education Committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

She is a founding member of VISTA Ambulatory Surgical Center – the largest and most advanced surgical facility in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean dedicated exclusively to ocular surgery. She is also a principal and a past member of VISTA’s board of directors.

Dr. Jiménez has received numerous awards for excellence including the “Doctor’s Choice Award” as one of the best ophthalmologists in Puerto Rico and the "Secretariat Award" given by the American Academy of Ophthalmology for her volunteer work with the Loaíza Cordero Institute for Blind Children.

ERNESTO L. COLLAZO, MD, FAAO

Dr. Ernesto Collazo is a graduate of New York University School of Medicine. He completed an Ophthalmology Research Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and an Ophthalmology Residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.
